Hot Prints: Greek Key

Another great print that I am finding popping up in magazines and stores everywhere is the Greek Key pattern. This print fits right in with the trend towards the bold, geometric shapes we are seeing in fabrics today. The Greek Key is a Meander print, meaning the shape is formed from a continuous line and repeated to form a motif. Greek Key prints date back to Ancient Greece and have been found on pottery and decorative columns. Just goes to show you, a true classic NEVER goes out of style!

A Greek Key lampshade mixes wonderfully with the other bold prints in the room. Notice the scale of the key print; when you are mixing prints, always accent a large scale print with a hint of a small scale print (or vice versa) to avoid sensory overload!
