Encouraging Creativity with Kiwi Crates

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a fairly creative person. Creativity is what feeds my soul. It is my form of expression. I try to add creativity into my everyday life, whether it be in the form of a DIY project, a recipe or a craft.

I love to share my creative side with my kids and encourage them to discover their imagination. Studies have shown that kids who are given the opportunity to explore and learn using their imagination grow into strong creative thinkers and problem solvers. Just think of all the inventions, medical breakthroughs and technological advances that never would have happened if it wasn't for those strong creative thinkers.
However, I find it tough sometimes to find the time to think up new and exciting creative projects for my kids to do. Then I discovered  Kiwi Crates. Kiwi Crates are convenient, fun & imaginative new project boxes designed for children age 3-7 that are delivered right to your door, every month. They are designed by parents to encourage kids to explore arts & crafts, science and imaginative play.

I don't know about your kids, but mine LOVE getting packages in the mail!

When the green box arrived at the door, they couldn't wait to tear into it to find out what fun and inspiring craft was waiting for them to explore.

This package was all about the Earth and learning about the 3 R's; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Each kit contains enough supplies to create 2 different projects for one child. You can also get a "no fight" sibling add-on to include a few extra supplies so all your kids can partake in the fun! Here's what we received in our first crate.

The box was jam packed with everything they would need to learn how to  create their own unique recycled paper cards, as well as re-usable paper bags to decorate with stamps they make themselves.

Even the box itself was designed to be a project. The kids could color it and turn it into a diorama.

Since this was our first crate, they sent us a nice welcome card with scissors, and a chart to keep track of each crate the kids receive.

They couldn't wait to dive right in and start making their own paper. Each project comes with a great, easy to follow instruction booklet that also tells the parents which skills the kids will be learning. It also includes a messiness scale so you can plan accordingly! Here's a few pics of the boys creating their masterpieces!

They had so much fun making their paper and also learned valuable lessons about mixing colors, recycling, and discovering the science behind paper making. They cant wait to get started on project #2 as well as a few other step-by-step bonus project ideas that you can do with things around the house.

There are so many other great Kiwi Crates available that my kids cant wait to discover! Dinosaurs, pirates and spacehero projects just to name a few. And for the girls, they also have crates about fairies, gardening & music too.
