Transitioning….

Halloween is over, and it’s not yet time to put up the Christmas decorations, but what does one do to bridge the gap between the two holidays? Considering the fact that the only holidays I really decorate for are Halloween and Christmas, this question played strongly in my mind when choosing how to dress up my family room back in October. I wanted something that would last through to Thanksgiving so I didn’t have to re-decorate with new props that would only stay up a few weeks before taking them down again in order to put up the Christmas decorations. Geesh! Who has time for that?!? Not this mama! So yesterday I spent only about an hour packing up my crows and bats while re-arranging and tweaking my metallic pumpkins on my mantle.

Here’s the before…..

Sometimes all you need is a little tweak and adjustment instead of starting over from scratch.  I kept up the garland and pumpkins and added a few pictures from around the house. They are perfect for bridging the gap between the two seasons and will stay up until Thanksgiving. Then I will bust out the stockings:)

I also sewed a few new throw pillows for my Family Room a few weeks back. The fabric is from Mill Creek and the colors are perfect for fall.

I also put out some leaves to hang on my Thankful Tree that we will do again this year. (These pictures were form last November, but you get the idea!)

So what do you do to decorate between Halloween and Christmas?!?
