I decided to tackle a quick and easy Halloween DIY project last week.
I'll be the first to admit that I've never been a HUGE fan of the burlap craze, but when I saw this cute chevron printed burlap ribbon at Hobby Lobby, I jumped right on the bandwagon and snatched it up. I figured it would make a cute wreath and the chevron pattern gives it a more modern feel.
Add a couple of Martha Stewart Bats to it, and now its a bit spooky.
Seriously, this only took about 30 minutes. Okay, MAYBE a bit longer then that, but only because I was drinking wine and having a craft night with my girlfriend. But if you really get down to business you could totally throw this together under 30 minutes. Here's some great tutorials.
I'm hoping to tackle the rest of the Halloween decorations this week and get my mantle done. You can check out the one I did last year here, and the year before that here. I don't think I will do anything too crazy and different this year...I've got some other things on the go so I don't want to spend too much time on Halloween. My kids have been
asking BEGGING me to put up more outside decorations, so I might focus on that, but as I've said before, I'm not a big seasonal decorator, (except for Christmas! Thats in a category all it's own.) I've actually been getting more and more into the spirit of Halloween each year as my kids get older, so you never know. Maybe I will splurge on some giant spiders and creepy skeletons. Stay tuned!
